Job Description:
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Ochsner Children's
Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Cardiologist with advanced
training in fetal echocardiography as well as in cardiac imaging
including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography to
lead our fetal echocardiography team . Our busy service currently
performs over 800 fetal echocardiograms a year, and we collaborate
closely with a thriving maternal fetal medicine team. The candidate
will also share inpatient consultative service as well as
outpatient clinic responsibilities at our main campus as well as
satellite locations with other members of the division. In
addition, the candidate will have opportunities to participate in
the teaching of medical students and residents from The University
of Queensland and Tulane University. The physician would join a
group of 12 doctors including 6 other imaging cardiologists at our
New Orleans location. We also have dedicated subspecialists in
electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, adult congenital
heart disease, and heart failure/transplant along with a team of 3
congenital heart surgeons.Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program
including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and
surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children's ) represents over 230
physicians. The group is the region's leading integrated provider
of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children,
adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric
complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and
cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a
comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region's only
comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center. We recently
announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated
Children's Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in
2027. We currently care for patients in an expanding 67-bed Level
IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric
CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated
pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house
pediatric and neonatal transport teams. In addition to patient
care, Ochsner Children's Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric
residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric
residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as
well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of
Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana
recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of
